1. Commitment to Net Zero

Totus Care Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 in line with the UK Government’s targets.

2. Baseline Emissions Footprint

• Baseline Year: 2023

• This is the first year Totus Care Ltd calculated its carbon footprint.

• Emissions sources measured:

  • Scope 1: Direct fuel use (company vehicle mileage).

  • Scope 2: Purchased electricity for the office.

  • Scope 3: Staff commuting, waste disposal, purchased goods (e.g., PPE, office supplies), use of cloud IT services.

4. Carbon Reduction Targets

• Reduce total emissions by 25% by 2030 (to below 20 tCO₂e).

• Reduce by 50% by 2040 (to below 13 tCO₂e).

• Achieve Net Zero by 2050.

5. Completed & Planned Carbon Reduction Measures

Already Implemented

• Shift to paperless care planning and rostering via Birdie.

• Use of cloud-based communication tools to reduce paper printing.

• Staff training on energy and water efficiency (delivered to suppliers too).

• Promotion of video/phone meetings to reduce unnecessary travel.

Planned Measures

• Transition to electric/hybrid vehicles in the company fleet from 2027.

• Switch to renewable electricity tariff for offices.

• Introduce a Green Travel Policy (car share, cycle schemes, EV incentives).

• Work with suppliers to adopt low-carbon procurement (e.g., PPE sourced from UK-based suppliers with environmental credentials).

• Review office waste contracts to improve recycling and landfill diversion.

• Annual staff awareness workshops on carbon footprint and sustainability.

6. Declaration & Sign-Off

This Carbon Reduction Plan is reviewed annually and has been approved by the Board of Directors of Totus Care Ltd.
